White Willow
Description : White willow is known for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, largely due to the salicin it contains, a chemical compound similar to aspirin. It has traditionally been used to relieve joint pain, inflammation, and backache. Clinical studies have shown that white willow can help reduce pain by inhibiting enzymes responsible for inflammation. It is also used to relieve symptoms of fever and certain respiratory disorders.
Taste : Light, slightly bitter.
History : Used since ancient times, white willow was prized by ancient civilizations for its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. Traditional European medicine used it in particular to treat joint pain and fever.
Instructions : Steep 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried white willow pieces in 250 ml of hot water for 5 to 10 minutes, then strain.
