Skullcap
Description : Skullcap is known for its calming and sedative effects, often used to relieve anxiety, insomnia, and stress. Scientific studies have shown that the flavonoids in skullcap, particularly baicalin, have anxiolytic properties by modulating the activity of the central nervous system. It can also promote muscle relaxation and be beneficial for mild nervous disorders.
Taste : Light, slightly bitter with herbal notes.
History : Used by the indigenous peoples of North America, skullcap was traditionally used to soothe anxiety and sleep disturbances. It was also used for its anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties.
Instructions : Steep 1 to 2 teaspoons of dried skullcap in 250 ml of hot water for 5 to 10 minutes, then strain.
